I know it was a mistake, but come on!!!

I was soooo upset last night. For those of you that read about me being soooo behind in getting things done before the baby comes, well, my DH just made things worse!

Last night he wouldn't let me paint, but the walls needed a 2nd coat so he insisted that he do it. Well, after he was in there a little while I went in to see it and I said to him that this doesn't look like the right color. He started arguing with me that it's the same stuff I was using last night, etc. It's wet still so it looks different. I didn't want to make him mad, so I left. After he was all done I went in and told him again that this is definitely not the right color. There were outlines and stuff. Let's just say that what he did was use the trim paint all over the whole room!!! I couldn't believe it. How can you be soooooo stupid??? He got mad at me the night before for trying to make sure he uses the right stuff. Now instead of the room being done the whole room has to be primed and then painted with 2 coats all over again since the trim paint is a semi-gloss and the wall paint is Eggshell. He just made sooo much more work for me. I needed the room to be done so I can bring all the baby stuff in there this weekend. Of course he keeps telling me, relax I'll fix it! Well, guess what, you don't have time to fix it because you're working all weekend! I had to call my mom to tell her because she was suppose to come over today and finish the doors in the baby's room and then the room would of been finished. Well, now she's not coming over because she's sooo angry because all of the work we've already put into that room was for nothing. All of this because he's too lazy to read the labels on the paint cans. I am still sooooo upset about it. Of course he doesn't see it as a big deal, but we have sooo much other stuff to get done this weekend while he's working, and now we can't because we have to paint the room all over. It's also going to cost almost $100.00 more because we need more supplies now that he waster what we had. And of course it's our anniversary today and I get to spend it painting. Thanks for letting me vent!

OMG- I think you are married to my DH. He ALWAYS puts off my suggestions- then back-peddles when he realizes I was right to begin with.... SO FRUSTRATING....

You have every right to be p!ssed off. Try not to let this ruin your anniversary, though (happy anniversary, by the way). As annoying as it is now- you WILL likely look back on this and laugh at what stupid mistake he made. Whether he admits it to you or not, he likely feels like a moron. Men hate it when they have to eat crow....

Sorry you have to repaint- it's my LEAST favorite thing to do too.

I am so sorry!!! I can't even imagine how frustrated you must be. I would be furious too. I wish I lived closer to you, i would come over and help you repaint.

I am sorry you have to go through this. My DH is home alone today and my ultimate fear is that he will try to finish painting the babies room that i started and make a mistake. I think we are all married to the same guy, cause my dh would act the same way as yours.

I am so sorry you had to deal with this right now...I know how frustrated you must be.

Try to "let it go" and have a Happy Anniversary. It only comes once a year!

I can totally see my DH doing that. I'm sorry that happened. I wouldn't be too happy either. It's best just to forgive and forget and plug away at it again. You'll laugh about this in a few years.

aww Im soo sorry that stinks Id be losing it as well. good luck and happy anniversary even though im sure your not happy about that either.

awe, you have to relax!!! At least he's trying to be "helpful"... I'm sure he's trying to do the best that he can...
