Photoshop does it. I'd love to learn how to do it too. I have Photoshop but haven't played around with it short of making B&W with a hint of color. If I knew how, I would definitely do it for you.

Someone just did one very similar. Can't remember who though...maybe do a search?

If someone can post instructions, I'd be more than happy to help out.

It is definitely photoshop - but I have no idea how to make it.

I know -Lisa- and Lichi did theirs in Photoshop!

Um, yeah...I've asked about 3 times in the past how to make something like this...and I've gotten no replies....

That makes me sad...I really want to learn how to do it...

you can pretty much use any photo editing program as long as you save the image in jpg format in the end!

Here are some instructions he put together to explain how he made the annoucement and invitation below:

One thing to know is that Photoshop uses Layers. You can do stuff on one layer and it won't affect the layers below. Make sure you have the layer you want highlit before you work on it. You can also rearrange the layers to put different ones on top. Undo only "undoes" one step. But you can retreat further in the history window.

1. Open the image file that is going to be your main image. This becomes the background. Crop the image to the aspect ratio that you want to use. Use [Save As] to save it as a photoshop document file (.psd) so that you don't mess up your original shot.

2. Next, open a side image, select all, copy and then paste into the main image file. It may cover the whole image and may not be centered well, but don't worry. then select [edit] [transform] [scale] and shrink down the side image to the desired size. Then move it into place and tweak a little further if necessary. It will be on it's own layer, so you can always move it around a little more later. You can crop the smaller image by selecting a box and then [Select][Inverse] and Cut.

3. Repeat step 2. for your other images. Layout your images for a good balance so that observer's focus isn't drawn off the page. Sometimes this means using a photo that wasn't in your original top list.

4. If you want to put borders around each small image, then create a new layer, select a rectangular area and fill with the color you want. Move this layer below the image layer so that it doesn't cover it up.

5. If you want to put a border around the main image, you can use [Image][Canvas Size] and increase the dimensions a little to give a little more space.

6. Adding Text is easy. Each text object will go on it's own layer. You can link layers if you want to move around two together.

7. When you're all done editing, save. Now you need to size your masterpiece. Note that 4x6's and 5x7's have slightly different aspect ratios and will be cropped differently. I'd recommend using [Canvas Size] command to add some extra white space around your work so that the photo processor doesn't crop off part of your design. Then use [Image][Image Size] to size the image. Set the Document Size Width and Height to "inches". For exmple, if you're going for a 5x7, put 5 in the height field. The Width should automaticaly change. If the width is less than 7, you're all set. If it's greater than 7, then type in a 7 and you should see the height change to a number smaller than 5, whichis what you want. 300 pixels per inch is a good enough resolution for 4x6 or 5x7. Now, go back to canvas size and set it to exactly 5x7. Then select [Layer][Flatten Image] and then [Save As] jpg. Don't save your PSD as you exit Photoshop in case you want to print it later at a different size or edit it some more. (You already saved as the beginning of step 7. If you save now, you won't be able to edit it later.)
