Ok... I know I've been gaining a lot of weight,

but, it seems that just overnight, my face, hands, etc. have seem to get swollen? It wasn't looking like I gained any weight in my face up until this morning. Boy can I see it now! Last night I told my DH that my hands just feel swollen. I have no idea why they just did! Oh well, there's nothing I can do about it. I don't mind the weight gain, I'm expecting it, but when you notice a BIG different just from overnight is a little shocking to see. So, today I'm having a yucky feeling kind of day.

I also overnight grew alot bigger. Though for me it was all in front like my belly and chest. I feel like when I walk into a room I am a brick wall walking towards people. From the back...theres nothing! Whats oddd is that I havent seen a major change on the scale.

Just be careful of pre-enclempsia that can cause sudden weight gain and swelling. Did you weigh yourself? If you gained a lot of weight in a short amount of time I would call your doctor just to make sure everything is OK.

No I haven't checked the scale, but my last appt. was this past Thursday and I was there a week before. But in that week time frame I gained 4 lbs!!! How the H3LL did that happen? I've been gaining a lot every month, but 4-4.5 lbs. in 1 week??? If something was wrong wouldn't they have caught it on Thursday?

I have to say, the WORST thing about gaining weight during my pregnancy, was the swelling in my face. I looked like the Stay Puff Marshmallow Woman. I really did. It was awful. I was so afraid I would stay all puffed out, but literally a few days after I gave birth, my face went back to somewhat normal size, thank god! It's just no fun when you feel crappy about yourself. If you were just at the doctor you are probably fine. I just know 2 women who had pre-enclempsia and they had sudden massive weight gain (one gained 15 pounds in one month) and lots of swelling.

I haven't really noticed a huge jump in weight gain (I've been gaining pretty steadily throughout) but the swelling the past 2 weeks is really is out of control for me (and I feel like at 24 weeks its just too early for me to be swelling up like this ) My wedding rings today are SO tight and my feet/ankles (or should I say cankles) are reallly really swollen and puffy. I bought a few pairs of bigger shoes and today even they were snug

I drink tons of water (at least 2 liters) and try not to eat a lot of salty foods - but I think I'm just going to be prone to swelling during this pregnancy. My blood pressure has been totally normal at every appointment so I guess I'll have to see how it is next appt is and what my doctor thinks ..

Its really hard to feel good about yourself when you feel like this though - I actually can take a solid weight gain over that 'puffy/bloated' look ... bleh!

DH said it's really humid out and that's why my rings are swollen. I'm going with that excuse!

I agree...I am swollen (feet and ankles = canckles), but my doctor assured me there was nothing wrong and to just keep drinking plenty of water. He said it's the heat and my blood pressure was normal.

I also bought a pair of shoes in an extra wide (8WW) and they fit , but other than that, only flip-flops for me. It hasn't traveled to my hands and fingers yet though...and if my face is getting fatter...nobody has told me about it yet

Ok girls, i'm going to attempt to make you feel better right now! Take a look at my feet in the first picture, then take a look at how swollen my face is in the other pic! I REALLY swelled up!

It is the weather Melissa. The heat will cause you to get swollen. Drink lots of water. If the swelling does not go down call the doctor just to give you peace of mind. If you feel your blood pressure raising call the doctor.

Ok, but here's my face a few days after giving birth....





AND, my feet are normal again, AND I can wear my e-ring and wedding band again. So it'll go down!

Felicia if your rings are tight you should take them off. MY GF had to get hers cut when she went into labor and it cost her a couple of hundred bucks.

I think I'm going to go with the weather excuse as well!

I'm in NC and usually it's not humid, but the last 2 days has been horrible!
