Sweep and/or vacuum first. Then white vinegar mixed with HOT HOT HOT water ... sponge mop squeezed out very well.

Re: How does everyone handle cleaning wood flooring?
My DH bought this spray thing that's specifically for hardwood floors...I used it last week and it seems to work well, but I don't remember what it's called.

Re: How does everyone handle cleaning wood flooring?
We got the Hoover FloorMate for our engagement party a while ago, and while we have all tile floors - it also works on wood floors as well, you just use a different solution (I think ours came with an Old English sample). I really love it for our tile floors, it's hardly any work at all and it really gives the floors a good scrubbing. Not that expensive either, from what I remembered - and it has a dry vacuum feature on it as well. Very useful!

Re: How does everyone handle cleaning wood flooring?
i sweep them alot and vaccumm on bare floor if i notice extra stuff on the floor, i usually use water and some cleaner if there are stains/dirt that doesn't sweep us - for fancier occasions, i have a pledge wood floor cleaner that smells really yummy!....

Re: How does everyone handle cleaning wood flooring?
I used to use a mop, but I usually use the Swifter wet jet, and will use those pads from the mop. I have to go over with a towel, so there are no streak marks. It is very smelly, but worth it.

Re: How does everyone handle cleaning wood flooring?
we hardly use our floor mate anymore, but we've gotten very lazy too!! WHne we first got our FloorMate, I used to use it every week, not it's more like once a month, sometimes more depending on teh weather and how much yucky stuff gets tracked into the house.

I agree.
I squirt it directly on the floor and then mop it off with clean, hot water.

Re: How does everyone handle cleaning wood flooring?
I have a vacuum for wood floors and then I use the new Vinegar Grab It's. They work great and last a long time.
