Over the years...how many really close friends have you lost touch with

Not sure why this happens but it seems to happen to everyone....it makes me so sad to think some of the people I was really close with (and some not to long ago) and now I hardly even talk to them or know them anymore. Some are for reasons and some are just because, I guess. It just very sad, especially when I feel that at this point in our lives is the time you would want to stay close with certain friends. I don't know..it just makes me sad and I don't know why it has to be like that. I hate cutting people out of my life...i've always had diffuculties with that....but it comes a time when you have to, I guess...I feel l that sometimes I am the only one making an effort and who cares about these friendships...I am just tired of it. It makes me sad, frustrated, angry and depressed. Sorry for rambling and thanks for listening

I know exactly what you mean. I let a friendship go over something very, very silly (third party discussions, petty nonsense, etc.)and now I regret it immensely I hope that she knows how much I appreciated her as a friend and that I regret how easily I dismissed the friendship.

I totally understand what you mean.

One of the hardest things I ever learned is that not all friendships are meant to last forever. So I try to enjoy people while I have them, remember the things I learn from them and not be bitter when it's time to move on.

I hear ya and I look at what I had and lost but then look at the ones that are still here as my good friends and how I cherish it all and that they truly are my best friends.
