I'm such a bad Mommy...

I can't believe I haven't taken DS to a studio to get professional pictures taken. I'm used to me taking them with my digital. We have pics of him hanging all over the house, (sizes 8x10) but they are one that I took and they came out really good. But I really should take him to a studio as well. Now I was thinking of doing it in October but he's got two occasions...which one should I do it for?

Halloween or his chirstening?

His christening falls in October...

I also have blown up photos that we've taken myself but I do love the studio photos we've taken - although we haven't gone anywhere fancy -- just to Target. We've gone there twice and we are going back this Saturday (well, we were planning on it) for her 1 year photos.

We did it in November for Christmas when she was 2.5 months old and then again at 6 months of age.

I think it would be fine to go for his christening and halloween photos at the same time. Most places allow you to change his outfit. I would just dress him in whatever you wanted the pictures of more for the first outfit in case he got upset and you weren't able to change him.

Ok, then if you are bad I'm horrible. Nate is almost 16 months old and the only professional pics he has are the ones they took at the hospital. I took him once around 3 months and I forgot to pick them up. I take lots of pics of him at home that come out pretty good.

Kiddie Kandids allows you to outfit changes so you can do some in his christening outfit and some in his halloween costume.

You're not a bad mommy! We aren't even sure we will take DD since the ones we took with our new camera came out reallly great!

I think what we are going to do is take him to get his christening pictures done. The Halloween outfit we can do at home. Cuz then it's like paying for two packages if you change outfits right???

Ive barely gone with my boys too. (maybe 4-5 times total? a few were cousins pics, what a nightmare!)
Im just too anal with how pics come out, and someone that happens to have a job in the photo studio of a store is not going to take better pics than me and then I have to feel pressured to "pick one" when in reality I hate them all, lol.
and I couldnt help but notice so many of the props (at sears i think) were old and icky..
I have more fun taking a zillion pics of my own, than forcing toddlers to sit still and take a "forced" shot. their
"1st bday shots" are just that, their 1st bday shots, ON Their 1st bdays (with thought put into where and how to take the pics and its just the magic of that very day AT their parties that MAKES the picture in my book.
I just cant "folllow the crowd" on so many things... Im stubborn like that.

and Barbara's better than any photographer Ive come across!
