pet friendly apartments/sublets
so, I am looking to move out of parents house (I think it's time)...and I have my 97 pound lab as a roommate...I haven't seen too much in the way of pet friendly places...anyone have any suggestions of places to look (websites that list pet friendly places)? my wish would be somewhere in the huntington area...

i know alot of apartment complexes allow you to havea dog for extra $, but only under like 20 lbs. good luck. this is the main reason we moved out of long island (we were in huntington actually and our landlord said we had to get rid of our dogs) because we knew in nyc it was so easy to have a dog. its unheard of them not allowing you. i wish you good luck!!!!!!!!!! i have my fingers crossed for you.
(you may have better luck finding a place in a private home with a cool landlord)

Sorry only place I know of is Alley Pond Co-ops in Bayside... my 98-lb. Lab loved it there, right next to the park!

thanks! that's sooo sweet of you!
I'm kinda locked into suffolk county because I work for the county, so I have to have my legal address be in suffolk
as far as money goes it's just me, so with my lowly county salary $1,000.00 a month is pretty much my max...I know I'm dreaming...
I keep hoping I'll find like a studio for $800 that's pet friendly and has at least one big closet....that would be perfect...but I haven't seen anything close to that so far....
maybe one day....

Re: pet friendly apartments/sublets
try apartments.com
just put in the criteria you want and im sure you will be able to find something.
i know a lot of places accept bigger dogs even though they might say 20 lb weight restriction. I would call and ask. A lot of times they say 20 lbs to deter people who have huge dogs (rotties, dobermans, pitbulls)
Good Luck!!
