i have a relative who had his mother ask my great uncle for lots of money over $20,000 while he was in the hospital and drugged up. to this day he still has not paid it back and claims that no interest was due on it. since this loan, his mother had died, my grandfather and father have died. now my mom- a retired widow with 2 kids, a grandchild and another grandchild on the way have to try and hunt this debt down.

i wouldn't tell everyone out of spite. we don't discuss it with the rest of the family because we don't want to put a strain onfamily relations. however, i would tell people in a sense of warning so that it doesn't happen to them.
