Consumers Reports rated Kenmore (Sears brand) one of their best buys
ETA: we have GE washer and dryer - they are older...about 15 yrs old but work fine

We have a LG front loader washer and dryer. It's so quiet, I can never tell when a load is complete unless I turn the signal on. It has a touch pad panel on and lots of options. You can wash a King Size comforter. They say front loaders preserve quality of the close bc it doesnt have the agitator in the middle, it save on water and electricity in the long run.
Here's a pic of the one we have.

We actually found a GREAT deal on this one the only problem is we have to take it in the color they have in stock... which is ORANGE!!
But instead of paying $1500 just for the washer we would be spending a little more then that and getting the washer AND dryer Image Attachment(s):

When we were shopping around we were told that the basin leaks sometimes. I'm not sure which model, though.

My only problem is orginally we didn't want to spend more then $1200 all together.
This is going to put us between the $1600-1700 range. But its such a GREAT deal for machines that got really good reviews....

I think the deal is b/c its the floor model and thats why its so cheap compared to the same machine in another color.. I mean the orange is a little much for me but hey its gunna be in the basement anyway right?

You can fit ALOT of stuff in that washing machine - I was surprised and it's really quiet too! You can stack them if you want, we did :)
