The funny thing about capes are that they look small from the outside but on the inside they aren't. This one has been redone nicely.

Re: The First house Levittown

You think they are big inside? I really dont think the Levitt capes are that big on the inside unless you build on them. I think they have proved to be a good starter home, and also a good home to expand. I have seen some really nice ones.

This house looks clean and looks as if the work was done well. I like the look and it is a nice piece of property. Well manicured. Looks like the driveway was repaved too

Re: The First house Levittown

Did you go visit this house?

It is no surprise to me they dropped the price. I thought it was pretty high. The couple has only been there about a year. This house is right around the corner from where we live. A couple of weeks ago we went to the open house. The driveway is brand new. It is your basic Levit cape, not extensions, but that can be good. You can do as you wish. There is no garage, but two sheds - one new, one old. It wasn't very clean when we were there at all, but it looked like they were already packing. The paint job was awful - ugly colors and very messy. You would definately have to paint everyting.

Re: The First house Levittown

I grew up in a Levitt Cape. They definetly are BIG. The only thing thats small about them is the Kitchen. When I was about 7 my grandfather was very sick and he was going to move in with us. My parents put an extension on the house. The extension was off the kitchen and back. So it added a dinning room and "den" With a sectional couch it became our tv room. There were 3 adults and 2 kids (I was 7 my brother probably was 15) living there and we had PLENTY off room. I actually prefer capes over a ranch. The good thing about a ranch is that there is a staircase in the back with a door. Easier to make an apt to rent. AND if your lucky the owners might have left the fire place.

And like an other poster said there is so much you can do to Levitt houses. Ive seen them expanded and dormered in everyway. I love Levittown and hope one day to move back. We are currently looking there.
