Yes!! i grew up in a very Bland tastebud house- roast beef & mashed potatoes style- no one in my immediate family eats pepper... you get the idea. Chat Icon DH is the complete opposite- he puts pepper on Everything, and loves spicey/mexican/cajun/hot foods. My tastebuds have changed so much since we've been together. i still can't Handle some of the levels of Hotness that he can... but i've come a long way! Chat Icon Chat Icon

ha! neener, thats funny b/c fh is the same way with pepper....if it sits still long enough its gets peppered. but he is not a fan of the spicey food....he'll eat wings, but they have to be boneless...whats the point? Chat Icon

Re: yet another food related topic....

not me because I eat everything but I opened DH up to the world of vegetables beyond peas, carrots and corn. I also introduced him to Nutella.
I'm deparately trying to introduce fish, but he's not budging with that one. it irks me to no end since he eats RAW sushi (he eats more raw stuff than I do) but won't eat a tuna steak or swordfish. WEIRD!

Re: yet another food related topic....

I never used to like shrimp cocktail and never wanted to try raw oysters, littlenecks, etc. DH loved these foods and I started trying them. Now I really like them.

I was a very picky eater before I met DH - so I've tried...

tomatoes
mushrooms
sweet potatoes

He's tried sushi since he's met me.

OMG, yes. I was so deprived before I met him. Since being with him, I now eat:

1. Indian
2. Ethiopian
3. Fake Meat
4. Tons of Italian Dishes I Never Tried

Basically, everything I eat now is different from when I met him and I'm forever grateful. My diet consisted primarily of pasta and pizza before I met him. Chat Icon

But he's tried many new things since meeting me too bc I converted him to a vegetarian!

I introduced DH to eating a MUCH wider variety of food. Before me, it was:

no chicken
no fish
no veggies
no salad
no "exotic" food, like thai, indian, spanish
no liquor of any kind

he ate burgers, fries, chef boyardee ravioli, cheese sandwiches and pizza. Chat Icon

he's much more open to trying new things now- which was important to me b/c I LOVE trying new food. I call it adventure eating. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: yet another food related topic....

Weird as it may sound, I rarely put fresh garlic on anything that I ate. Ever since being with DH, we use garlic all the time in recipes and I actually like it!
