what a horrible night
between the trash that lives across the street (an illegal rental with about 6 apartments) the boyfriend and girlfriend screaming fighting at midnight and then the two trashy teenagers that live two houses away with their music blasting in their car as they sit in front of their house and outside talking and laughing, me and dh got no sleep... This happened for about 3 hours straight. He is so fed up he said we pay too much money to live like this and he wants to move we just moved here last august..and i know that because our windows are open, yes you hear everything..cars driving by, people,etc... I was ready to call the cops..dh stuck his head out the window around 1am to yell at one of the girls who was walking back and forth between a few houses talking loudly on her phone.. I dont know what to do... these 2 trashy girls live with their mom and she doesnt do a thing! I dont want to move

Re: what a horrible night
I'm sorry! I hate nights like that!
My neighbor's son has a motorcycle and he keeps the strangest hours. Plus the teenager next door is a complete freak and will play basketball in the driveway at all hours.
Have you thought about getting a noise machine? We got one for $9.99 at Bed Bath and Beyond and it's helped a lot. (Plus it covers the sound of DH snoring, which is a huge bonus!)

Re: what a horrible night
Thankfully we don't have neighbors like that, but we do live across the street from a small park, and there can be up to 30-40 kids hanging out and making all kinds of noise. DH has no problem calling the police if the hour seems to be getting late or we hear glass breaking (little kids could get cut) or we hear the beginnings of a fight.

I am so sorry you have to deal with that. How about putting an A/C in the window - that helps drown out some noise.... The white noise machine also is a great investment. I used to deal with noise from the outside every single night and I would pray for the winter time just so I could get some undisturbed sleep
