Maybe you never noticed it because you weren't monitoring it. I know that my CM is on the yellow side when I am Oing....so maybe that's what it was.

How long is your cycle? It's possible to O on day 9 if you have a shorter cycle.

Usually my cycle is pretty regular - approx 26-30 days, average is 28.
I guess no one has ever had this happen before

You can have random spotting in between periods for no significan reason. Did you recently go off the pill? Because that could be your body just adjusting.
