So i spent all yesterday in labor and delivery...
I was experiencing terrible period like cramps/backache for days..decided to fianally go to the hospital and see the doctor on call..turns out I was having contractions..I am 35 weeks.
All is ok..they put me on a drug to stop early labor contractions and sent me home-i was there from 8am-after 4.
My baby shower that was scheduled for this saturday in NY in cancelled....but i'm ok with it, its better i stay close to home in Virginia. I'm a little sad, but my mom will be traveling here this weekend with some gifts and to go to lunch. I'm just happy that the baby is ok...

So sorry you will miss your shower
How long do you have to be on the meds?
I was on meds for pre term contractions since 26 weeks of pg, they took me off at 36 weeks cause after that it's okay to have contraction and a baby.
Hang in there, you're almost there

I'm sorry about your shower but as you said, it is better to be closer to home and rest/relax at this point... feel better and take care of yourself!

Thanks everyone
I feel better. I am just happy  is ok. I felt bad that my mom put so much into this shower, but what can you do?? We will have one after he is here...in the meantime people are forwarding gifts which is so nice..we'll need a lot!!!
