Did you Ovulate cd 14 ??? Otherwise, I am not sure why they did a cd21 progesterone test. That test is usually done by ob/gyn's who assume everyone ovulates cd14. Uggh ..I thought more doctors were moving away from that.

Well if you did O cd 14, then cd 21 is 7 dpo. Your progesterone should be over a 5 to confirm ovulation and 10 or higher to sustain a pregnancy. If your progesterone comes back, lower than a 10 but higher than 5, you should be put on progesterone suppositories immediately in case you are pregnant.

Progesterone is the key hormone in sustaining pregnancy. It's what is secreted by the leftover follicule (corpus luteum) in the luteal phase. It's responsible for heating the uterus and making the lining a comfortable place for an egg to implant. Pro-gest-erone. gest-gestation. Your temperatures go up during the luteal phase...(2ww) because of progesterone :)

If you ovulated, cd 18, and you were tested for progesterone cd 21, the amount will not be accurate, in determing supplementation. If you ovulated cd22, then the cd21 progesterone test will indicate you didn't O when in fact you did, that's why cd21 shouldn't be a 'magic cd" to test progesterone on.

Thanks as always! I am fairly certain I ovulated on day 14 or 15. Now I know what #s to hope for (lol).
