Since when is today an effing national bank holiday or something?
It's not new year's day, yom kippur or easter, so tell me WHY on the day I am sicker than i've been in a long time, my doctor is CLOSED?!?!?!
And why can't pharmacists be able to give out scripts for everyday antibiotics? TELL ME. 
Any good remedies for a sinus infection and sore throat, cough, runny nose, etc?
And do you know if GNC or anyplace has colloidal silver? I picked a bad time to run out, but I thought I could get it at the doctor!

Sorry you're feeling lousy - I think that's called Murphy's Law as to why your doctor is closed when you're sick - anything that can go wrong, will go wrong.
My parents used to give me a small dose of honey, lemon and whisky to cut chest congestion and help a cough. I like Advil cold and sinus for nasal congestion, and good ole Afrin nasal spray. If it's really a sinus infection I don't think anything short of an antibiotic will help Hot lemonade mix is soothing for a sore throat too - get some instant lemonade mix like Country Time and mix it into hot water and sip a that - the heat is soothing and the lemon helps with the cough.

I would try Mucinex. I thought it really helped me with a stuffed up head. The only thing is if it's a true sinus infection, you need an antibiotic to clear up the infection.

I think it is an infection. My doc is usually open on Sundays! I think I might get some of the Advil Cold and Sinus you reccomended and steal some of FH's antibiotics from the dentist, explain it to the doc tomorrow, and hopefully they'll prescribe him more to replace it.
It's just ugh. The ONE day I've been sick, as in sick sick, not allergies sick in months and now I can't go to the doc. grrrr.
Does anyone know if GNC has the colloidal silver
ETA: Thans for the well wishes and sorry for my pissy mood.

I'll wait there so long,I might as well go to my doc tomorrow. haha.
it just double blows cause I can't even give myself a neb treatment, cause I'm out of the stuff. Colloidal silver is an awesome natural antibiotic when inhaled.

Yay. hubby is here to drive me to school, so I can take as much cold medicine as I want. AND he's giving me his antibiotics from the dentist. He's my hero!

Try Vitamin World Stores, they sell Colloidal Silver.

I hope you feel better. My doctor is never open on Sundays, but, the walk in clinics are. Maybe they can get you a prescription.

Thanks ladies. My day actually got worse. I went to strike and going through everything was so sad. Of all the shows I've been in I couldn't find one costume I had worn, but my friend was so sweet and gave me a cloak she had work which I loved. 
But then I went out to dinner with my mom. I was so sick by that point i couldn;t breathe and i couldn't talk or taste anything. I ordered tortellini. I jokingly said to FH "this could be filled with bacon and I wouldn't even know it" because I couldn't taste it AT ALL. I wasn't really paying attention to it, just popping them in my mouth, cause I couldn't taste and I wasn't that hungry I was just eating to eat. Then I started to feel burning in my esophagus and stomach, and for some reason I looked carefully at my food, some of the tortellini were a little dark, so I cut them open. Yep..they were filled with BEEF.
I started to cry and my mom was yelling at me for making a scene, the owner came over and offered to make me cheese tortellini, I took it home with me and left dinner early. *sigh*

so sorry you are feeling so bad.
I take Robitussin DM whenever I'm sick and tylenol/advil switching every 3 hrs.
Lost of liquids and rest are the only things that help.
I have to say that antibiotics could make it worse if it's viral and not bacterial. Don't take it without talking to your doc..
