Bellmore Pediatrian
Does anyone use Dr. Oppenheimer in Bellmore? I live in east Meadow and I currently use garden City Peds. however the past two times I went there I had to wait with my son for 1/2 hour in the exam room before the doc even came in. I think that is terrible for a child to wait that long
I wanted to know if he is good too? I dont want to have to wait in an exam room

I am actually using him too! I am going on Wednesday for Jacob's first visit. I hope I dont have to wait that long once i get there. My friend at work uses his office and she raves about the group, thats why i chose them. I'll let you know how my visit goes Wednesday.

I go there as do several other mommies on this board. There are 4 doctors and 2 nurse practioners in the practice. They always have a doctor on call and the doctor will call you back, even at 2am. They have office hours 7 days a week, although Sundays are emergenices only.
I've only had to wait that long once, and it was in the waiting room, not the exam room. It was recently but they had a lot of sick kids to see since it's cold and flu season. You also might have to wait a little bit if you want to see a particular doctor, some are requested more than others. They have tvs in the exam rooms with cartoons on to amuse the kids while you wait for the doctor.
The newborns have their own waiting room and they take them pretty fast since they don't want them around too many other people.
Good luck, it's not an easy decision.

thank you girls. I wil probably switch because I dont like the fact that I had to wait 40 minutes for Garden City to see my son. What if he were really sick? I will give them one more chance

I LOVE Dr. Andy! He's my favorite! I called there when Sarah was home 1 day in a panic (I had no idea that they could get days and nights mixed up and was in a panic about why she wouldn't sleep) and he got on the phone right away and then called me a few days later from home to make sure things were getting better. He's so nice!

awee that is so nice, he once remembered something when Sam had reflux too and when I spoke to him on the phone........... he said something like... that he was thinking of her just this morning driving to the office......lol
he is very nice........ we laughed and said him and sam have a connection

I went today and met with Dr. Oppenheimer for Jacobs first visit. I love him! What a sweetheart!! I waited all of 5 min after i arrived. I think i'll be very happy there..

I use this practice. My favorite so far is Dr Korn. A member of my family has been with Dr Peter Oppenheimer before he was even this practice and is still using him with her youngest son (many many years). My cousin also works there. I am very happy with the office so far.
You will wait esp if you go on peak times. DH and I work full time so most are appts are weekends or wednesday evenings and there is sure to be a wait - durign flu shot or back to school season it can be up to an hour even - -in the waiting area or in the exam room. When we go off hours we don't wait too long. Newborns do take priority.
