Anyone else lose power last night?
Ours was out from 7:00 till about 2 am 
A good 20-30 blocks were out.
yet the house on the CORNER had lights! eta- When I called Lips they said outages were occurring in over 45 towns

Dont yuou live in Lindenhurst. We were driving down Sunrise and there were no lights. Just past Wellwood going West there were lights, We were praying. Thank god ours were on

Us too Jerry was just laying on his back I made DH take him out to car and put on the a/c.
Lindenhurst right?

I had an outage last week (or the week before, can't even remember) and it wasn't even THIS hot and I felt like )

yep....from Wellwood down to Town Hall was all out but on the other side was all ON

I felt horrible for the cats and our puppy, the puppy was panting so bad. We were gonna take them in the car but I went to CVS and bought a battery operated hand held fan and held it on them .

We lost power during the day, but by the time I got home it was back on!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'm as fortunate today!

Ok so if things couldn't get worse, the management of our bldg. (@ work) just came in and informed me that we will have NO AIR CONDITIONING TODAY!!!!!

Suggestion - get a generator. DH got it years ago and while we haven't needed it this year, we used it for that blackout 2 years ago. He just got gas the night we lost power 2 weeks ago - but we got it back so soon, we didn't need the generator. It is worth the $$ for the peace of mind - and for when you DO need it, it is a lifesaver!

LIPA is conducting rolling black outs through out the LI area, I know we will all get our turn eventually . My girlfriend lives in Smithtown and has had no power since 6pm last night

I also live in Lindenhurst and we had no power.. I am 6mos PG and went to my aunts house 2 mins away in W. Babylon.
But she is having work done on her house (including upgrading her electric) and the AC in her bedroom kept pulling all the juice (blowing fuses), and the AC in the room I was in went out in the middle of the night.
UGH! I hope we don't lose it again tonight is all..

I work in a child care center and a couple of the parents came in complaining that they had no power last night....crazy. My brothers friend came over and he lives a block away and the whole block was out yesterday afternoon...don't know if it came back on yet. I was sorta hoping the power at work would go out so we can go home....not happening, however our air conditioners aren't working all that well and us teachers are sweating. The kids are feeling it too....crazy day!!!
