fetal fibronectin test
Has anyone ever had this done or heard of it? I believe it is to check for pre-term labor, but I am not sure. I was reading about it the other day.

Yes I had it done. It checks to see if you will go into labor in the next 1-2 weeks I believe.
Its not a test they do normally unless you are having signs of pre term labor.

Re: fetal fibronectin test
They did one for me at 28 weeks and one at 33 weeks since I had preterm labor both times.
Both times it came back fine.. I had my son 3 days prior to my due date.
The must do the test before they check you because they don't want to irritate your cervix or it could give off a false positive. It also hurts a bit because they can't use lube.
Most times doctor's won't tell you the positive results anyway since sometimes they are wrong but if your negative and it was done correctly in most cases you know you are good for 2 weeks.
