Ipod Users..
I currently have a iRivers mp3 player and have been d/l all my music from napster. I pay 20 bucks a month for unlimited downloads.
Someone who didnt know I had this got me the new Ipod Video 40 gig.. and I want to keep it.. My question is since you d/l from ITunes at 99 cents a song how do you afford to keep d/l songs? And if your d/l your cd's.. how long does it take to put them on there.. do you have to rip them to the computer first? I love that im going to be able to watch vids on here just wondering how easy it is to put music on here... TIA

Re: Ipod Users..
I'm not sure if it works the same on a video iPod, but I don't pay for my downloads. I download through Limewire and put those on my iPod. Don't have to buy songs through ITunes. Also, you don't have to rip your CD's onto your computer first, you can rip them right into your ITunes Library.

Re: Ipod Users..
The quality is excellent. I've had a few times that the file is "corrupted" but it tells you that while you are downloading it it so you can stop that download. Limewire is free but I paid $20 for the upgraded version. It wasn't working properly for a few days and I thought that if I paid the $$ for the upgrade, it would work better. It still ran slow, but it was no big deal because it fixed itself a few days. I don't mind that I paid the money though, because in the past year - I've downloaded about 1,000 songs from there!! I've had songs that have literally downloaded in 8 seconds.

You mean you have to rip from your CD into your iTunes library (which is on your computer). You can't bypass the computer & go from CD to iPod using your computer as a bypass. If there is someway to do that, I'd love to know!
I've ripped about 1/2 my cd collection & have it on an external hard drive as a backup to my iPod. I've used iTunes a lot, but will definitely be looking into Livewire. Thanks for the info!
Should we share our song lists in case we have songs we all want? I've emailed songs through gmail.
