Nasal aspirator question
Are you supposed to close the other nostril when doing it. It never seems to grasp anything, I don't know if I'm just not doing it right or what?

Yes, you're supposed to close the other nostril. I almost threw mine out thinking it didn't work until I realized I was doing it wrong!

You don't have to. Squeeze the bulb before you insert it. Let it go when it is up the nostril. Then pull it out and squeeze out the gook. Repeat

I spray her with saline first (unless she's already got a runny nose) wait a minute or two and then close the other nose when I do it.

maybe the one I have is sucky, it works because I hear Roman cough a little when I release the bulb but there's just not a lot there. Sometimes I feel a dampened Q-tip works better. Then there's always the finger which he just loves

You don't have to close the other nostril just use some saline solution and squeeze the bulb before inserting.

I simply just squeeze it before I insert and then let it suck in there - he hates it but we use it pretty often. Sometimes it may seem like it's not working but if there's nothing that needs to get out or a big chunk on the side - sorry to be grafic - it might not get it.
