Pudding Poke cake
I made this cake for dh last night. he loved it
PUDDING POKE CAKE
1 Package(2-layer size) yellow cake mix or pudding included cake mix Ingredients for cake mix 2 packages(4-serving size) jell-o Chocolate flavor(I use any flavor) instant pudding and pie filling 1 cup confectioner sugar 4 cups cold milk
Prepare and bake cake mix a directed n package for 13x9 inch cake. Remove from oven. Poke holes at once down through cake to pan with round handle of wooden spoon. (Or poke holes with plastic drinking straw, using turning motion to make large holes.) Holes should be at 1-inch intervals.
Only after the holes are made, combine pudding mix with sugar in large bowl. Gradually stir in milk. Beat with electric mixer at low speed for not more than 1 minute. Do not overbeat. Quickly, before pudding thickens, pour about of he thin pudding evenly over warm cake and into holes. (This will make strikes in cake) Allow remaining pudding to thicken slightly; then spoon over the top, swirling it to “frost” the cake. Chill at least 1 hour. Store cake in refrigerator.
Peanut Butter Poke Cake: Prepare pudding poke cake as directed, using chocolate flavor instant pudding and pie filling. Add ½ cup peanut butter to pudding mix and confectioners sugar with ½ cup f the milk; blend well before adding remaining milk and beating
Additional flavor combinations Use yellow cake mix with butterscotch or pistachio flavor pudding mix
Use chocolate cake mix with chocolate, vanilla, coconut cream, banana cream or pistachio flavor pudding mix
Use lemon cake mix with lemon flavor pudding mix
Use white cake mix with butterscotch, chocolate, pistachio or vanilla pudding mix

Re: Pudding Poke cake
Sounds good- thanks!
My SIL does something like this except she uses yellow cake mix and takes strawberry jello (she doesn't refrigerate it) just adds water to the mix.
bakes the cake, pokes holes in it w/ a fork, and pours the jello liquid into the cake.
and then refrigerates the cake and tops it w/ coolwhip and strawberries. -it's sooo good, the cake is very spongy and moist!
