Sunscape Punta Cana - The Beach
Has anyone been there?? We found out the resort we were staying in - in mexico will be closed until Oct 15th, so we decided on booking Sunscape Punta Cana - The Beach. It is a little less money, a newer resort and looks really nice from the pictures.
Has anyone gone there?

Never Been but I have read wonderful things about that property on trip advisor.
Dont forget to ask doc about maleria pills.
Punta cana looks soo beautiful.
Its high on my list of Must Do's!

The cases of Maleria have doubled since last sept. due to the hurricanes. Maleria is Mosquito borne illness,
The Dominican has aprox 1000-1500 reported cases of Maleria each year. Why take chances?
You should take it I think 2 weeks before you go.
Most doctors recomend it going to DR.
Talk to yours, see what they say.
Edited to say There is tons of info on it at the CDC website, if u want to look..http://www.cdc.gov/
Just was trying to inform you..I personally will be popping that pill when I get a chance to go one day.. lol

I am leaving for Secrets in Punta Cana in a week from today... do you think its too late to take it? I was just going to bring bug spray....

I just spoke to my cousin who is a travel agent and he was with 3 other travel agents and they all agreed that we wouldnt need to take the Malaria pills before we went to Punta Cana.

Thats is what our government just issued.
Warnings about maleria outbreaks in the DR.
You should pass that on to the travel agent.

If you scroll down to where it says Malaria and read near the bottom of the article it says there is no worry if you are staying at a resort.

yea I see that, weird since mosquitos fly everywhere..
But thats good to know!
Im sure My DH will make us take the tablet anyways since we sometimes leave the resort to do other activities.....
We tend to live on the " better safe then sorry" side..

I went to the doctor after work and he told me not to worry about taking the pills. He gave me the prescription but said I would only need it if I was going near Haiti. He said his family and himself were going to Punta cana in December and none of them are going tot ake the pills either...>So now I have the prescription but I am not sure if I am going to fill it.
