The dorky thing I did today...
I just have to share the ridiculously dorky thing I ended up doing today.
I noticed last night that my gas light was on and I'm one of those people who drives around forever with it on. Usually I can go a while with it on. So last night I said to DH after picking him up from work to remind me to get gas in the morning.
He didn't need me to drive him though, so I didn't leave the house till like 4 today. I was going to go to target and then pick him up. However, my car would barely start. I finally got my car to start, and figured I'd have no problem making it up the road to the gas station that I always go to.
I made it across the stoplight and my car died.
So I ended up walking about 3/4 of a mile on Wantagh avenue to the gas station to ask them if they sold the gas cans, which they don't. Meanwhile I was having contractions while I was walking there because I've been having them on and off since this weekend. And some stupid guy was in there chatting it up with the mechanic saying people don't return gas cans so that they shouldn't lend it out to anyone, and I'm sitting there thinking, holy cow, does this guy realize I just walked all the way here and I'm 8.5 months pregnant and I'm not leaving until I get some gas???? So finally the gas pump guy told the mechanic I am okay (because they know me, I always go there) and he just drove me to my car and give me some gas. So he did that and then I went back and filled my tank up.
I can't even blame it on baby brain. It was just a stupid doofy thing for me to think I'd make it there!

I hate getting gas...
It is in part baby brain though...
Dh and I just want to get ices... and while waiting on line I just walked over to the garbage can and through away a 10 dollar bill... I dont know why...
DH goes do you have the money...and I just looked at him...and then realized I had thrown it in the garbage...
Where was I...space?

Hah, my husband actually calls it "Placenta Brain" now...that's his new term for it.
At least I managed to get to the gas station, right? And I'm thinking I should never let myself get down to E, and never EVER let my gas light go on, ever ever again! Could you imagine if I had the baby with me???

Melissa, what a shame!! I am on Wantagh Ave. all the time -- I would have stopped if I had seen you!! Next time.....I will stop if I see a pregnant woman walking, looking for gas!!

totally baby. When I was 8 months I wore two different shoes to work and didnt notice until long after I got home!!!

OMG!!! Thank god you were close enough to walk there.. I did that when I was preggo with my first and had to PUSH my car down the LIE to the next exit, (RT 112) and all the way up to Horseblock to the gas station!

Words to live by...when the light goes on GET GAS, it doens't mean you can drive around for half the day. At least with me I ran out while I was pulling into the gas station...

The crazy thing is that since my car is a lease I have car care coverage. I've used it before, when I was about 4 months pregnant I locked my keys in my car WITH THE CAR RUNNING. I swear, pregnancy makes you do the stupidest things sometimes. Anyway, it took like 2 hours for the guy to get there and it was cold out and I just had to sit outside of my apartment the whole time sicne my appt keys were on the keychain along with the rest of them.
So I figured it would just be quicker to walk to the gas station then to call the car care coverage.
And no, I don't htink I'll let my gas light go on EVER again! My mom and I were talking last night about how much harder and crazier it would have been if I had the baby with me!
