Question about walk through

We are closing on Monday and haven't received a time for the walk through. Just wondering if this is the norm. Needless to say, I haven't received any info from the attorney as to how many/much certified checks need to be made out either. When did you get that info as well??

Should I be worried?Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Question about walk through

We figured the the walk through was the day before so we called the realtor and confirmed an appointment. The only certified check was for the down payment, the number you discussed with your morgage broker, everything else was personal checks. Good luck the actually closing is very long and very boring.

Re: Question about walk through

I called the attorney and realtor about 3 days before the closing to schedule the final walk through for the morning of the closing and scheduled the time of the closing for that afternoon. I also asked the attorney for the estimated check. We had to give a certified check in NJ, but I am not sure if a certified check is required in NY for the closing or if a personal check will do. If they need a certified check it might take a day or so to get it from the bank - at least that was my experience. I had to notify my bank I needed the check before I got it.

Re: Question about walk through

You should talk to your attorney tomorrow just in case you need to go to the bank over the weekend if your closing is first thing in the morning.

Depending on the time of your closing you will either go the day of the closing or the night before. We went the morning of.
