I had my daughter's christening at the Reception House on Northern Blvd. in Flushing. I really recommend it; the food was really good and the price was right!

Definitely book soon - you're going to be competing with college graduations, proms, communions, etc till the end of May. Beginning of June is probably the best time - end of June would be a nightmare.

Re: Inexpensive places for a christening.
I did Sarah's the first Sunday in June since the church was totally booked in May with first communions, weddings, etc.
We only had about 20 people, so we took everyone to a late lunch/early dinner at Hemingway's in Wantagh. They provided a sheet cake as part of the package, and we paid the bar bill separately since 90% of the people in our families don't drink.
