Did this happen to anyone else....
Now that I'm married my mother is constantly calling and bothering me to go visit/call this one and that one....
It was never like this in the past...EVER. Does getting married mean "She's an adult now...go do Adult things?"
ie: My great-aunt's brother in law (twice removed) had surgery done and she wants me to call him and see how he is? I have never spoken to this man in my life!
the following week:
your grandmother is in the hospital - go visit her...I can't mom it's in Syosset (I'm in Bklyn) and by the time I get out of work visiting hours are over...I sent flowers and called...isn't that enough?
Why is she always on my case now?

 My mom is the same way about calling this one & that one. I just say ok..and never call!

Actually, not my mom so much, but MIL. She would call me and say "Did you sent a TY card to so and so" like a day after she found out they gave us a gift. But, she's a major PITA all the time, after we got married it just got worse.
She never has us over for dinner, but then she'll say, "you guys never come over". Hello???

DH constantly complains about how his parents have yet to come over and visit us since we've been married! I just laugh and say "thank God."

we had my il's over twice since we moved in. once the day of the move, when my mil's idea of helping was to iron the dust ruffle and make the bed. and when she saw me all she could say was "its cute."
second time was before my dh's grandparents left for caroline, they wanted to see the apt., they invited themselves over.
but what bothers me more is that my mil expects us to go eat by here every friday for pizza and at least one other night a week. hell no!! i can see where its going to be a problem...

OH MY GOSH!!!!!!! SAME THING HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!
so funny! ive been in CT for 3 years now- and havent lived at home since i left for college. Why, all of a sudden, am i getting the guit trip?
great uncle so and so is NOT going to notice if I send him a carr or not for his 84th birthday

That's exactly it - a GUILT TRIP...out of control...think it's bad if we change our numbers and don't tell anyone?

My family, including Ricky had a very hard time with me working in CT - and I was commuting. I feell your pain, and honestly, I support you 10000000%...they have no idea what it's like in the industry!
