Spin-off to gas prices back in the day

I saw this and thought it was quite informative.

That's a good chart because it's adjusted for today's dollar.
Show's that we are spending even more money than during the gas crisis of the 70's but people are doing a lot less to conserve So we are our own worst enemy.
I remember my Dad waiting on lines for gas (could only get gas every other day depoending upon licese plate) and trading in the station wagon for a VW Rabitt.

Yep, my dad could only go every other day..it was the biggest news story.

OMG I remember that. The gas station was right next door to my school & my mom would drop me off & then go & wait on the line until I got out. Sometimes she did not have enough time, so she's leave her car on the line & walk to get me & then get back in the car.
