Treadmill / Workout Question
Hi All ! I haven't worked out in over 6 months - I am starting on the treadmill tonight - what should I start with? Walking 1 mile? I want to start again slow, plus I am a smoker, so it is going to be slow no matter what! Is it ok to eat dinner right after? I mean I get home @ 6:00. I don't want to eat dinner 10 at night.

Start off by doing as much as you can. If you have a set mile or time in mind it won't push you to go further - you'll just stop. Use the first week as a trial - see how fast you can walk and for as long as you possibly can - write it down too. And yes you can eat right after. Don't eat dinner right before b/c then you'll want to digest and have to wait- then you won't want to work out, so yes you can definitely eat after.

I would start at a pace of 3.0 probably if you are starting back. Just walk tonite and see how u feel. I would personally eat before so you can burn those calories but its not like you wont burn them after. I started at 3.5 and now I am over 5.0. Start gradually. Talk to a doctor as well. They will know what you should be working towards with heart rate etc...
