Collace Users...
Did your doc prescribe the amounts to take or did you just follow the directions on the bottle?

Mine told me to take one as necessary. Bottle says one to two. One works

Aww I feel your pain hun! A full day......also Raisin Bran or any high fiber cereal worked just as well....If I felt really bad I did them both at the same time........

I used to chew 2 Fiber Choice pills daily and that help me be more regular (I was also taking iron pills so I was really constipated  ). The pills come in fruit flavors and they were pretty good.

I take 3 a day! I normally have a problem with constipation (before pregnancy) and when I'm pregnant it's horrible! I can't take my prenatal vitamins because the IRON makes it 10x worse! So I take a Flintestones and make sure I get iron from my diet. With my 1st pregnancy it was really bad! So, I make sure I drink LOTS of water and I take my colace EVERY day.

Thanks Ladies... My doctor said my prenatal is making it 100 times worse for me... I ended up taking two collace pills today and am hoping it will work by sometime tonight! My back is killing me and I think its because I am soooo backed up and gassy (sorry if TMI) But thanks so much for the info...
Please keep the advice coming because I am totally clueless!

I take it 2-3 times a day. Water and fiber help too. I had no m/s, but this "issue" was a huge problem for me. I eat high fiber cereal everyday.  It does get better, hang in there.

Colace is just a "softener". It won't make anything happen that isn't going to happen anyway -- it just makes it easier. Definately try those Fiber Choice pills. DH has also taken them and they helped. Or how about prunes?

I'm gonna try the prunes or a ENEMA!!!! I am in so much pain and miserable!

Did you try Peri-Colace? It is a softer with a mild laxative. My friend also used to take Milk of Magnesia. Her Dr said it was ok to take. I would check with your Dr first though...
