Do OPKs work if you are taking clomid, metformin and dexmethasone?

This month I was put on those drugs because of my PCOS; I've been using the OPK, and I'm on day 14 (cycle was 31 days last month)...still no surge line.

Do these OPKs work even with all these meds?

This past cycle was a Clomid cycle. I got a surge on CD 19 and my cycles are about 32-33 days long. Use the ClearBlueEasy OPK and take the test between 8-12. I was also using Answer during the same time and had no luck with them but I did with the ClearBlueEasy. It is definitely worth the money.

Are they monitoring your cycle with ultrasounds? If they are, they can measure the follies and give you an idea of when you should start testing.

It all depends on how high your dose of clomid is. If you are on 50 mg, one tablet a day. The opk should pick up the surge. If you are on 150 mg (3 tablets), it may not. Also the problem with using opks and having pcos is that many women with pcos have, high levels of LH throughout their cycle. They often get surges, eggwhite mucus at random times. In women who don't have pcos, their LH and their FSH levels are in a 1:1 ratio. Many times women with pcos have elevated LH levels.

I strongly believe that if you are on clomid, you should be monitored with U/S. If you are taking clomid days 3-7, you should go in day 10 for a baseline sono. Just like undercover said. They will measure your follies, and make sure your lining has adequate thickness. If you are taking clomid days 5-9, then cd 12 should be the baseline sono.

Also if your protocol for clomid is days 5-9, you will probably ovulate a bit later in your cycle.
