Sonogram / Ultrasound ... what is the difference?
I had a 7.5 week sonogram (internal), now tomorrow I am having a 12 week Ultrasound - what is the difference?

I don't think there is a difference. My dr. always uses the two words interchangeably. At 12 weeks it will probably be external now.

Ultrasound is the procedure in which sound waves are bounced off an object. The sonogram is the resulting picture. Hope that helps!!

Both sound the same to me but maybe you are talking about a transvaginal (internal) with the wand inside where as an external with the wand outside.
