Need gift ideas for a 1 yr old (boy) that has EVERYTHING
don't mind spending $$$ but have NO ideas. it is one of my best friends from HS's son. party (tented and catered) is in 2 weeks.

Does he have the Letter Factory DVD, the Word Factory DVD? I swear this is how my son taught himself how to read.
Books? You can never give a child too many books.
You could go with old movies they probably dont' have. I gave my girlfriend's daughter DVDs like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Mary Poppins, Willie Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.
If he has everything, I'm sure he's got walking toys up the gazoo. You can get him dress-up stuff like doctor things, pirate costumes, etc.

How about something like a Beach theme basket ... bathing suit, sunscreen, towel, tank top, coverup, swimmings or float, sandals, hat, sunglasses. They sell small play tents for the beach for kids to play/nap in, etc...
Or a Sports Theme - pint sized soccer, basketball, baseball, volleyball, football ... maybe an outfit, a sports themed toy (those basketball hoops or something like that), a picture frame, a signed autographed copy of a famous player the daddy likes  ... stuff like that. I'm sure they have sports themed DVD's from characters.
You could do a construction theme, a train theme (toy, outfit, work bench, Bob the Builder DVD or Thomas the Train DVD, accessorries), Outdoor Grill theme - apron, BBQ accessories, a toy company makes like the talking BBQ and other stuff like a lawn mower ....

What about a little step stool or wooden chair personalized with his name?
You can probably find some neat ideas on onestepahead.com or some other good websites....landofnod.com is a good one too. On I just rememebered lillianvernon has a good kids selection also...

hmm... well, he probably already has a TON of toys and clothes.... i think a savings bond is a great idea! i knwo i had bonds from when i was a baby, and cashed them in a couple years ago and was able to make a HUGE dent in my student loans.... a friend just counted up a bunch of hers, and they are now worth almost $100,000!!! thats a house downpayment!
i think something like that, with a small toy or outfit would be great... he'll appreciate it in the future...

my son always liked those thomas the tank engine train sets. they are a little expensive though! He's almost 5 and still plays with them!!!

thanks for all the great ideas. i remembered that i bought my nephew a pull sled from llbean when he was younger. he loved it then and 2 years later still loves it. haven't made a definite decision but think i will go w/ the sled and throw in a hat and a pair of gloves.
