i feel like the boy who cried wolf... still here..

I feel so silly for all these posts, especailly lsts night ssaying i had contractions ten miutes apart but... i did... some were more like 12 but i thought it was sign. i have been up half the night with some more contractions but they are no longer evenly spaced apart. What is goingn on here?

Yes i think what the dr did is called stripping my membranes and it hurt !!!!!!!!!!!! Now i am blaming myself b/c at one point it hurt so much when he ws doing it said can you please stop and he said yes and stopped, now im wondering did i mak hm stop to soon? if i let him go on, b/c he didnt seem like he ws stopping until i said to, maybe if he continued it wuld have some progress..

ok now i am starting to loose it.. i am goign on a week late!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did any of your drs sem like not big fans of inducement? My practice seems to not liek to induce, not sure why but it seems to be the genral rule there.Chat Icon

They usually wait 10 days or 2 weeks past due to induce.

Sorry to hear about how frustrated you are! She'll be here before you know it and you'll forget about the 'waiting.' Did the doctor say when he would conisder inducement?

Re: i feel like the boy who cried wolf... still here..

I asked my dr last time I was there about how long he would wait to induce because DH travels alot for work and he said he won't let me go more than 10 days late.

Hang in there!! Did your dr say they would not induce? I would think if you're more than 10 days late and are really uncomfortable, they would do it then.

I think I would try to push the issue on Monday when you're there. If you tell them how uncomfortable you are, etc maybe they'll induce.
Hopefully you won't even make it to that appointment!!

I know this stinks, but if your doctor doesn't think you're ready for inducement it might be better to wait. My understanding is that inducement is successful if you are "ripe" for it. Here's a link Bishop's Scores that explains how to tell if you are ready for induction.

Good luck!!!

Try to hang in there. A lot of doctors don't like to induce because it's has a much higher % of becoming a c-section.

Try to enjoy these last few moments to yourself. I know you are anxious to meet your little girl but she will come. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I agree, plus if you are contracting the way you are I bet you have this baby girl by the end of the weekendChat Icon

I'm sorry you are so frustrated.

My Dr. does not like to induce and I am glad for that. I would not want to be induced. Maybe if she decides to hang in there one more week (I know it seems like forever), then he will be more likely to induce.

Hang in there Noel!
I can't even imagine how frustrated you must feel (I know I would be too) but your little girl just isn't ready yet ... but I have a feeling its going to be soon! Things can happen out of the blue and all of a sudden VERY quickly at this point... esp. if you did have those contractions last night, I think that is still the start of things for you

Good luck! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I completely understand where you are coming from. I feel disappointed too...now i know we should both be happy to be having healthy babies who will come when they are ready.....but on the other hand, its so frustrating, isn't it??? just waiting every day for something to happen? I still have 4 days until our due date and our phone rings off the hook.....and I have to keep repeating "nope, nothing yet" Chat Icon and can only imagine what your life is like right now....

hang in there...try to relax and wait (can you see my own hypocritical nose growing??)

I know my poor dh is trying his best to keep my spirits up but i am just so Chat Icon with waiting right now.....and not even hormonal just testy over eveything! - sorry didn't want to hijack your thread but want you to know I am here with you and hoping you go really soon!!! Chat Icon Hang in there, and try not to stress! Stress can actually stop labor from happening, so relax a little bit.

I had prodromal labor for a week. Info on prodromal labor: http://www.maternitycenter.com/articles/labor5.html

It turned out that DD's cord was wrapped round her shoulder blades. A Non stress test did not show anything because her heart rate would not drop during contractions. Here is my birth story:

I know what your going through. I was late and I was looking for any little pain whatsoever to be a contraction. Nothing is worse than just sitting around and waiting for this to happen. My Drs told me that they will not induce me until I was 2 weeks late (unless there was a problem with the baby)..Chat Icon . 2 weeks late felt like the longest time ever. It so happened that on my 6th day late they did a sono and measured the baby at almost 10 lbs - we did a c-section the next day because they were afraid of the baby getting stuck. So basically just try to hang in there.. your little angel will be here soon. I wish I had something better to say, but she wil be worth this wait! Chat Icon

Just to shed a little light on the situation - I know you are frustrated...my dd was two days late and it seemed like forever. But now with my DS being two weeks early and all the complications and grief we've been through, I really wish he would have decided to stay inside longer. The baby will come when she is ready and until then just try to relax, sleep as much as you can and go get a pedicure! Believe me, she will be well worth the wait.
