Hospital Bag Question
Ok - I figured I would ask you guys.
I know there are lists out there for what to pack in your hospital bag, but did you really need everything that is on the list?
For example, did you use PJ's at the hospital?
If not, what did you use?
Any opinions would be great, since I figured I need to start packing one soon.

Definitely buy your own pads, bring pjs (you will be in them more than you think) and I bought sweats and a shirt.

Stayfree Maxis(extra long w/ wings) cotton weave and not plastic crotch!! They are great for stitches!! Also I cannot stress Lysol enough......I disinfected everything! My roomate was thankful I brought it......

definitely bring some PJs and change of clothes...also, flip flops and socks. I felt so much better after a shower and some clean clothes.
I personally liked the maternity pads I got in the hospital, so I never even used my pads until I ran out of all the ones I took home from the hospital (also, get all the creams and Tucks you can outta them if you have the baby vaginally)...
Also, some snacks, extra hair ties, my hair dryer...cell phone charger...
If I think of more I will let you know

I used the hospital pads because as uncomfortable at they were - they were much longer than the ones I had.
I would say some definites were change of clothes, pjs/nightgown, socks, flip flops, regular toiletries, at least 1 outfit for the baby,
I'll try to think of more.
eta. rather than PJs, you should use a nightgown since they'll be checking your nether regions.

I wore a knee-length terry cloth robe that had a zipper down the front. I was so comfy, I thre it on when visiters came and had easy access when I tried BF.
I brought my own pads, but the hospital ones were longer and more absorbent. Flip flops are a good idea for when you take a shower. Also don't forget your own towel.

 The nurse laughed at me when she saw the bikini underwear I packed. I had a c-section and the bikinis sit right on the scar- my mom had to run to the store for giant underwear for me.

Yes -- the hospital towels are horrible! I would also say DEFINATELY bring PJs! I was actually a lot more comfortable walkign ebtween my room and the nursery in my PJ pants and a t-shirt then in any type of gown they could give me!
Don't forget toiletries. When you can finally take a shower it feels great. Bring your own soaps! And flip flops are a must for the showers!!
I'd also say to bring some healthy munchies, especially if you are breastfeeding. You'll need the extra nutrition!
