fever...

Emily had her 5 mos. shots yesterday and has been so cranky today and also had a 101.2 fever. The doc said if she runs a fever to give her tylenol so I did but she still seem so uncomfy. She is eating less and fighting naps. Any suggestions?

Re: fever...

I just wanted to send lots of Chat Icon Chat Icon I would just hold her and comfort her as much as possible. I am sure she will be much better in a day or two. I don't think reactions from shots last too long.

Sounds pretty normal. I'm sure she'll bounce back. Her fever isn't that high so I wouldn't worry.

Re: fever...

Running a fever after shots is normal. IN the future give Emily some Tylenol at the doctors office right before the shot and then again 4 hours later and before sleep . I always did that Sammy never got a fever except from the MMR 10 days later which is normal

Re: fever...

She is normally fine after all of her shots so far -- so I normally dont have to use tylenol agt all. This is the first time she has had any reaction to it -- I just felt so bad for her because she was so uncomfortable. I ended up taking a cuddle nap with her in the late morning and hubby took one wit hher in the afternoon, so we just tried to cuddle her through it aside from one dosage of tylenol.

Re: fever...

And my husband's co-worker Mark had a son 2 weeks before Emily and only had a reaction with this last 5 month round of shots. Maybe this round is more prone to reaction?
