Are you planning on bringing extra pillows and the boppy pillow with you when u go into labor?

Just wondering - Im almost finished packing my bag - and between the overnight clothing and accessories, baby's clothes and going home clothes - i think ive packed quite enough.

I know that a few people have mentioned bringing pillows and the boppy pillow with them - are you planning on bringing it also?

I did because the hospital pillows are so uncomfortable! And the boppy was a big help when I was feeding her...

I am too, but I am WAY over packed. I have a big suitcase and a smaller tote bag. It looks like I'm planning on moving in.

I was thinking of at least bringing the boppy, but I feel like I already have enough stuff to bring so maybe not. I could always send DH home for it if I feel like I need it.

I HIGHLY recommend bringing your own pillow!! Anything to make you as comfy as you can be in those hospital beds.

I also brought the poppy - I suggest you do. If you don't need it you can always send it home with someone after day 1.

I brought my own pillow into L&D and then into my maternity room, it was nice to have a pillow with a nice soft pillowcase than the flat scratchy hosptial pillow.

DH brought the boppy the next day when I was in maternity ward.

Yes bring your own pillow in a non-white case. Be sure to bring one for DH incase you have a long labor.

I brought my own pillows and boppy. The hospital bed was bad enough, I couldn't imagine not having my own pillows.

As an L&D nurse I highly recommend you bring your own pillows. The hospital ones are pathetic and on top of that we occasionally have a shortage of pillows.

I didnt bring my own pillow but wish that I did. They are so uncomfortable and I probably got a total of 5 hours of sleep the entire time I was there.

Re: Are you planning on bringing extra pillows and the boppy pillow with you when u go into labor?

For me, bringing my boppy was a lifesaver. It's really helpful when you BF especially if you're having problems in the beginning - the last thing you want to worry about is positioning hte baby, but with the boppy you just plop him/her on it and then work from there on the whole latching thing. Also, I ended up having an emergency c-section, so using the boppy made it much more comfortable on my incision...

i would have been miserable without my pillow from home...i used it behind my head and back during labor and then also in post-partum. The boppy pillow (actually, I think the brest friend pillow is much better for newborns) is good to bring too, but your husband can leave that in the car until you are up in your room, and then bring it in for you.
