This is a perfect article that describes the state of the housing surplus.
Its people like the first person in the article. Yes their home is on the market... but are they in a rush to sell? Nope.
When people say "well there is a big housing surplus"... how many of those houses for sale are from people that NEED to sell.
This person doesn't NEED to sell. She would sell if she can "cash out big". Otherwise... she isn't going anywhere. And most likely... she won't cash out big so it will stay on the market and skew the housing numbers.
I really wonder how many of these 25k houses for sale are in this category.
