Any ideas for inexpensive weekend away?
MY DH is SO burnt out, and we are going on vacation in mid-October, but I want to do something before then. Anyone have any ideas?

See post 3 below yours....same question was asked -- I suggested the North Fork (we go tomorrow) -- also Hudson River Valley, Pocanos, Atlantic City.....

Shoot if I just didn't have to WORK I'd spend all my time travelling!!
Oh any suggestions for the north fork this weekend then? We are going to stay in Peconic, maybe dinner at the Frisky Oyster,..no other plans yet...

Re: Any ideas for inexpensive weekend away?
I love Peconic, it's so relaxing out there. DH works there, and whenever I get the chance, I go and visit him. The drive out is so nice.
If you are going to the Frisky Oyster, you'll be in Greenport....the little shops there are great, and since it's by the water you can walk along the docks, and go to the carousel. There are also the wineries- you can go to tastings if you like wine.
It's just such a laid back atmosphere. Hope you have fun!!
