Direct Buy??
We saw an ad for direct buy and plan on going to look around and see what they have to say next week. Does anyone have any experience with them?

I was interested in going to see what they had. I went on their website to get a brochure (to tyr to find out how much it was) and then I went away for a week. When I got home there were about 10 messages on my answering machine from some man from there. I felt that they were a little pushy and I got a bad feeling.
Let us know if you check them out- I am interested in seeing what the "catch" is.

I know someone who used them and saved TONS of money but like another poster said, it was because they needed THAT much.
It is expensive to join but then you get things just a few dollars above cost

I posted about this a few weeks ago. I was learning about it too. From what i was told, you pay a couple thousand to become a member. After that you buy at wholesale price. It is most benificial for people who need to furnish an entire house, or plan on adding more furniture over the next few years.
I decided against it b/c i was only looking for a bedroom set. Good luck, let us know how it goes....

We did it...had a horrible experience and wound up getting most of our money back after many complaints!

I heard when you go there it super high pressure sales tactics. I heard it was around $3000 to sign up for a couple of years.

haha maybe we won't go. DH and I don't have that money to lay out right now since all of our money is going into our down payment.

I went with my parents to check it out a few years back, it was a few thousand a year the first couple of years, then it started to taper back in fees but was still alot, year 15 was alot less, so their sell tactic was that the "average" price per year was reasonable-- only worth it if buying a large house and needing to purchase alot of furniture
