For your 1st baby.....did you get EVERYTHING new
What you take/buy from someone else if it was in great condition to save money????
My best friend suggested that if the babys' mouth goes on it in anyway, you want it to be new (stroller, excersaucer, etc)

We got everything new. I have a few sweaters and blankets that my grandmother had made for me that I used, but that's it.

Same here. For example we did not get an exersaucer at the baby's shower so my SIL offered hers to us as my niece was just done with it. The seat is machine washable and I scrubbed it down. Its fine. We also took her door jumperoo thingy, snap and go, mobile some unisex clothing, etc. And now we just finished with it all and I gave it to my other SIL who just had a baby.
I was bidding on NWT only clothes on ebay, but after I saw that my son had worn alot of things only once or twice I realized it was really no big deal. So if I saw a really nice boutique item for a steal that had been worn, heck you wash it right?
I draw the line at onesies, bibs, and burp clothes and the like ... those things are disposable to me. Unless it holds some special meaning like his Christening Day bib, I probably will get rid of Aidans too.

Re: For your 1st baby.....did you get EVERYTHING new
We got 99% of the stuff new, it was what we researched and picked out to our liking. WE did use a bassinet that came from my SIL because it was almost brand new and we knew it was something we'd only use for 3 months or so. And the ultrasaucer my brother gave us. We just washed it up real good and it saved us $$.

Everything was new. No one really offered naythign anyway - but I doubt I would take it. My MIL did get some stuff from a neighbor to keep at her house - she just cleaned it all well.

Re: For your 1st baby.....did you get EVERYTHING new
I took some hand me downs from my sister in law like some stand up toys tat the marissa loves I just cleaned them with the clorox wipes and cleaned them really good. Also I took some clothes from my other sister in law. Yes I got alot of things new but after a while you see how expensive things are and will take what ever you can and appreciate that someone is willing to help you out. Oh also my aunt just gave me a bunch of tapes for the baby that her kids outgrew
Also my mom had some blankets and things that she had kept from when I was a baby so I took them and I think it is great that my daughter can use things that I had used when I w as akid it has great sentimental value
