Renting a Tent - Should the company have insurance?
Hi,
We are renting a tent for Ava's 1st Birthday. Do you think it is necessary that the company have insurance??
Thanks, Denise

I would say yes and I'm sure the company does have a commercial liability policy.

when we rented a tent for my brothers graduation party, my parents had to add a rider to their homeowners policy for tha 1 day event.
it was very inespensive

yes! - anyone who does anything on your property (even as seemingly low risk as setting up a tent) needs to have insurance.
Ask them for a Certificate of Insurance. It should show General Liability AND Workers Comp coverages.
Why should you carry insurance for their employees and liabilities? I could see adding a rider as a secondary extra umbrella type thing for extra protection, but not in lieu of their own.
