My DS sleeps on his side all the time, without rolling to his tummy. I guess its more comfy for him that way.

we purposely put dd on her side in the crib- she's almost 4 weeks. ped. said it was fine since it seems to be the only way she'll sleep.

I never put DS on his back on only his side. He never fell on his stomach only on his back. Laying on the side does help with gas pains even as an adult.
