Working Moms: how do you make time to work out?
Right now I'm only consistently able to work out on Saturdays and Sundays. But I need to squeeze in 1 - 2 more days in order to see results. I work out at home because we have lots of equipment, videos, etc. Yet, I'm still having trouble getting in 2 more days.
I tried for thur and fri nights but it's so hard with having to pick up the baby, spend time with him, feed him and put him to bed, make dinner, clean up, etc. DH helps alot but by the time all is said and done it's 9pm and I'm exhausted.
I get up at 6am with the baby as it is...I've tried setting the alarm for 5am and I just can't roll my azz outta bed at that time. Plus I'm afraid I'll wake the baby too early (def don't want THAT!).
Any suggestions? What do you do?

Re: Working Moms: how do you make time to work out?
No help, just wanted to say I'm having the same difficulties. Before I had Alex I used to workout 5 days a week for an hour, no fail. I miss it so much, but by the time I get home, feed Alex, play with her, put her to bed, eat dinner for myself, it's usually 8 or 9pm and I"m so exhausted that all I want to do is sleep. My only suggestion is that now that it's getting warmer out, Dh and I will start taking nice long walks with Alex and our dog when we get home from work. It's not the same as a "workout" but at least it's something!

I'm impressed that you work out on Saturdays and Sundays!!
Like Beth - I will probably take walks when the weather gets nicer. I have a treadmill but I'm embarrassed to say that it's become a coat hanger.

If it makes you feel better I have no time to work out and I'm a SAHM!!!!!!!!!!!
Hopefully the weather will get nicer soon and I can at least put them in the stroller and go for a walk!

I was having the same problem, even being a SAHM, although I do have two...even one was hard enough.
I've recently started doing 10 minute sessions. I try to get at least 2 10 minute sessions (my goal was 3, but I never can seem to get a third in) in a few times a week. I know it's not a lot, but it's helped me lose 7-8 pounds.

I just run for trains. That's the extent of my workout.
I know this is a serious question but if you saw me, you would be laughing too!

Re: Working Moms: how do you make time to work out?
I've just been starting to get into a routine for workouts. I do a 30 minute session, 5 times a week-Mon through Thursday and then I do it once on the weekends. I wait until she goes to bed (usually about 9) and do my workout as soon as she goes to bed. I get everything set up before she goes to bed and then I'm usually done by 9:30-9:45. It was hard to get into but now that I'm in the habit of it, it's no problem.
I thought about doing them in the morning but I think she's more likely to wake from it then. You just need to pick a half hour of the day that you can squeeze one in.

We must be in the same "class" although mine may be more advanced because it involves doing the limbo under the gates!

Re: Working Moms: how do you make time to work out?
I have packed on the pounds since my kids were born and need to drop a serious 40 pounds. I just joined Weight Watchers and the working out was not coming easily.
I joined a kickboxing class at 6am by my job and then I go to work and shower. It's the only time I can go or else I make excuses at night why I can't or shouldn't go. I don't feel any guilt working out while the kids are sleeping.
Now if only I could stop stuffing my face at night..... :)

Re: Working Moms: how do you make time to work out?
I don't. I just don't have time. For now I have lost all of my weight from diet. It's the one thing I can do and have control over.
I know a lot of people say they make it a priority. For me it's not a priority over the other things I have to get done.

Re: Working Moms: how do you make time to work out?
I used to be so good at working out. Now that I'm pregnant with #2 I'm bad We have a gym in the basement. After DS went to sleep at 7 I'd go on the treadmill for about 30 to 45 mins then do light weights Now... too tired. I walked this weekend a lot with DS, but I'm slowing down as my belly is getting bigger
Since I'm due in July I'm hoping to take lots of walks this summer with the kids
