Is it too late to introduce a bottle?
Hi,
I have been EBF since my DD was born. She is 16 weeks today. I have been going over and back about buying a pump and just never got around to it. I work from home so am here to feed her all the time.
With summer approaching I am beginning to long for a nice glass of wine or beer in the evening and while I know I can have one drink and still BF, I am a little concerned and thought it better to pump and give her a bottle of expressed milk if I do decide to have a drink.
Sooooooooo am I going to all this trouble, buying the pump, expressing etc to perhaps have my DD refuse the bottle.
BTW, she does have a pacifier and loves it.
Any advice?
Thanks a lot.

Re: Is it too late to introduce a bottle?
Totally depends on the baby. Some people have no trouble at all. My daughter refused the bottle, and after lots of tries, I just gave up -- it wasn't worth the stress for an occassional date night.
So my advice is to give it a try, hope for the best, and if it doesn't work out know that you can still have a glass of wine when you know you'll have a long stretch before she needs to eat again.

By 16 weeks my DS wanted nothing to do with a bottle. You can have a glass of wine and not feel guilty about BF. Just don't drink the entire bottle
Here is a great website:
