What am I doing wrong
Why does Carlie hate her cereal SO much. I give it to her with her AM and PM bottle. I have tried liquidy, thick, in between. She just hates it. Any advice?

Does she have trouble swallowing, or does she just dislike the taste? If it's just a taste issue, which kind are you feeding her, rice, oatmeal, or barley? Maybe try a different kind? Or even mix a little bit of a jarred fruit with it?

Re: What am I doing wrong
I aggree about trying a different type of cereal (oatmeal, barley) and also mixing it with some sort of fruit. Emily hated the cereal alone -- so I would mix it up with apples, pears, bananas, or one of the other Stage 1 fruits. I tried that after one week of her hating the cereal alone and she loved it!

try mixing it with fruit juice instead of formula/BM.

I don't think you are doing anything wrong. Not all babies like cereal!

Re: What am I doing wrong
My son only wanted the bottle at first so I would give him a few sips of his bottle (its juice and water for constipation), then the cereal. He's such a piglet that he didn't feel the cereal was getting down his throat fast enough! He still fusses sometimes with the cereal and he definitely prefers oatmeal over barley and rice. I also mix his cereal with 1tbsp pear juice, 3 water. My girlfriend also gives her son the whole bottle first, then about an hour and a half later gives him the cereal so that he's not so hungry. I just felt with that I would be feeding him all day long!( every 1 1/2 instead of 3 hours!)

We noticed that Maddie would refuse cereal after a few spoonfuls. Then we gave her a sip of her bottle - and she'd go full force afterwards. Like ups, sometimes they need something to drink in the middle of dinner.

Re: What am I doing wrong
How old is she? Maybe she is just not ready. I would hold off this week and then start again in a few days. Sometimes babies just don't like the cereal. There are some that skip it totally. It is not 'required" for their growth.
