Those not finding out the sex...

What color are/did you paint the baby's room?
I will be regestering for both a boy and a girl bedding set so that will not affect anything. I just can't decide what to paint the room! This is what it looks like now (excuse the furniture, this was the previous owner's stuff!)

Maybe since it is so neutral I could even keep the color?

Re: Those not finding out the sex...

We painted the room light green when it was still an office and we love it so we are keeping it. I think that you can keep the color you have or go for a pale yellow or cream.

The room is already a pale butter yellow, so we are going to keep that. When we originally painted it, we knew one day it would be a nursery.

We are painting it yellow. Some to keep it neutral but mostly because we have a lot leftover from painting our bedroom.

Re: Those not finding out the sex...

We picked a gender neutral bedding set the first time around since we knew that room would remain the nursery and the older child would move to our guest room. The room is painted yellow on the top of the walls, green on the bottom and a wallpaper border that matches the set is in the middle.

Sarah's new room is painted a light blue/gray and I got a yellow and pink rose bedding set to go with it. We figured the blue/gray color could be made to look boyish or girlish depending on what our first child was.

Now I just need to get moving on getting her new room set up......

Re: Those not finding out the sex...

I am finding out the sex...but I am still painting the room a neutral taupe color. I will decorate and accent with either blue or pink or green...but I wanted the walls to be a neutral color to match the rest of the house.

Re: Those not finding out the sex...

I chose 2 bedding sets- one boy, one girl. I don't really like the gender neutral sets. Then I chose a color that would work with both sets. We painted Honey Pot Yellow. After Molly was born I ordered the bedding set for her. Then I had the muralist come in and do the lady bug theme.
If she was a boy I was going to do a ranch theme.

Re: Those not finding out the sex...

We painted the room purple on the bottom with green and yellow stripes on the top. It will match the colors in both bedding sets we got. I'm attaching pics of the room even though it isn't totally finished. We are waiting until the baby is here to put up the border above the chair rail that will match the appropriate bedding set. We also will be putting shelves and pictures on the walls. It's still a work in progress, but here's what we have done so far.

eta: I have to resize the pics.

Re: Those not finding out the sex...

Thank you all. You all have great ideas! I'm pretty sure we will just keep the color of the room as is. We will certainly decorate it after the baby comes and we can always paint it if I don't like the way it looks all finished. I guess since nothing will be in the room until after the baby is born, I am a little aprehensive that it won't look nice!
