So Fed up with Behr's !!! HAPPY UPDATE!

I am so sorry I ever stepped foot in that store let alone ordered anything from them!

I ordered my furniture back in May, giving plenty of time to have it here and all set up by September.

The furniture is delivered in July and the crib is damaged. They tell me not to worry, they will rush order a new one. About 8 weeks later (some rush) they deliver the new crib.
The guy setting it up tells me there are issues and he can't finish it. They forgot to send the spring board the mattress sits on and the tracks for the drawer under the crib.

So I have to wait now a 3rd time for the delivery people to come, they come yesterday and finish the job.

Today I go to put the bedding on and there is a hole in the mattress!!!!!

Both me and my husband have been talking to the manager, John, with each problem.
He acts like nothing is a big deal and blames everything on the manufacturer. We bought the furniture from Behr's not directly the manufactuer, so Behr's should take responsibility and act like they care even a little.
So, now I have to wait a 4th day for these people, and will hopefully have a crib set up soon.

They won't even take anything off the price for all the inconveniences and aggravation!
I am so frustrated and aggravated! Not good for someone who is 9 months pregnant!!!

UPDATE:

First a very big Thank You to Barbara (Nrthshgrl)! She sent Behr's an email, with a link to my post here. They read it and this morning I got a call from them, saying Mr. Behr was unhappy with the problems I was having. They wanted to hand deliver me a new mattress this morning.

The guy came within an hour with a brand new mattress and to my surprise, a check with some money back!

I feel so much better about getting my furniture there, they really came through. I know now it was just the manager that was rude and not the rest of the company. Maybe he didn't care but everyone else did!

Oh great!!! I ordered my furniture from them too the massapequa store( dont know if there is more than one) .

Now Im worried mine is coming in the middle of november and Im due in dec- if there is a problem with the furniture too then I wonder if I will have it on time!

Sorry you had to go through that Nat, I know its a little late but I got Julia's furniture from Bellini, and never had a problem with them, If they continue to give u problems maybe you can look into Bellini. Are you putting little Dominic in a bassinet? If so you will have time to order furniture from some place else......

Oh no!!! I'm so sorry this happened. I've been hearing negative things about Behr's and Bellini's - and yet we still ordered from Behr's...I should say we JUST ordered from Behr's and only gave ourselves less than 3 months to the babies' due date - I'm scared!!! I guess I should have just gone with BBB or BRU. I hope you get your furniture and everything gets settled before arrives!!!!! Oh and if they want to blame it on the manufacturer - why are the items shipped in Behr's trucks- they deliver them to the customer which means they receive them before it gets to you. They should inspect them before it even gets to you!

You should not be going through all this! I am so sick of furniture problems. I never had anything delivered that didn't need attention to some problem. But that is outrageous!

I'm so sorry that you had such a bad experience with them. I bought my crib & furniture from them in 2001. I truly hope that this is not representative of how they are now doing business.

Without a doubt, they should be compensating you for the inconvenience THEY caused.

I'll certainly think twice about recommending them in the future.

I had a problem with theem too. They were missing the bolts to put the crib together . It was a nightmare to get the pieces frpm them. I will never deal with Behrs again!!!!

I understand problems happen, but when you are treated poorly on top of it, it makes it so much worse.

The manager had the nerve, (when I told him I had to make up the crib until my new mattress came in case I had the baby) that it is no big deal to take it apart and redo it. Just rip the sheet off he said...ok I have a dust ruffle, mattress pad, sheet and bumpers and a huge stomach, not so easy!

Then when I told him it was inconvenient to have to wait for a 4th delivery....he told me I thought you said you were due any day. (I am already 3cm dilated) Saying basically I shouldn't have anywhere to go and I should be sitting in my house anyway!


But thank you for letting me vent, it felt better to get it out!

We had a similar problem with them. We eventually got a crib that wasn't damaged (3rd try) when DS was about 2 months old (ordered about 4 months before he was due). Fortunatly, DS was still in the bassinet at this time.

My mom went into the store to complain and got us a $100 merchandise certificate too use. We ended up ordering a small nightstand with it, but still don't have it yet (not a surprise).

Well, this is all good to hear. Considering I'm having twins and will be buying TWO cribs I will not be buying from Behr's This has also cemented my decision to use our hand me down furniture for the babies for now.

I am very surprised to hear all of these negative comments about Behr's. I purchased furniture for both of my children from behr's and i know that many of my friends have done the same. We were all very pleased with the quality of the furniture as well as their service.

I'm calling them and telling them to ship mine sooner and that I heard of all the problems they are having too. Right now I have my furniture coming 3 weeks before my due date!!!!!

I'm glad it worked out. I couldn't imagine a place that went above & beyond for me when I had a preemie would treat their customers that way.
