What does Braxton Hicks feel like?
I want to make sure I am not imagining things. I have an OB appointment tonight and will ask him, but kinda wanted a few answers before 7:30PM. TIA

Tightening around your belly. Will stop sometimes if you lay down.
Real contractions are accompanied by pain radiating from your back to your belly.
Drink water - it helps. BH can start if you're dehydrated.

Thanks girls! What about a sharp pain on your sides (lower abdomen) and "down there" (sorry TMI)? I don't know if they are kicks, braxton hicks, or what. Never felt this before. I am 32 weeks. Could it be that her kicks are just painful now?
ETA: they come and go, they are not constant

I used the term "shooting crotch pains". Unfortunately, they're normal. If this makes you feel any better most of the aches & pains you feel is your body prepping you for labor.
If you're concerned, I would call my ob/gyn or nurse on call.

My friend is here and she is due 3/28
Anyway, she said those side pains could also be your ligaments stretching as the baby grows

I did ask the doctor last night and it is ligament pain The doctor said "let me guess it feels like a knife is stabbing you in you abdomen and in the privates". He nailed it on the head. I was not expecting this to be so painful because I had ligament pain in the first trimester and it did not feel like this.
