need help=- job related

I just got a call from my recruiter the other day and she is sending me on an interview tonite. The only problem is that I will "hopefully" be closing on my house sometime maybe the beginning of august. The mortgage broker said its not really a good idea to switch jobs right now, the bank may have a problem with it, as i just started my current job about 4 months ago.
The job i would be interviewing for is about 5 minutes from where my house will be, so it would be perfect for me to work so close!! And its more money!
Should I tell them when I interview that I wont be able to start immediately, or should I tell my recruiter first and see what she says..
It sounds like a good opportunity, but I also dont want to stress myself out so much by starting a new job, moving and becoming a homeowner all at the same time!!
What do I do??? Chat Icon

talk to the recruiter first. It's a practical situation and should be easy to work around.

Good luck!

I would go for the job since it sounds convenient for you. The recruiter can negotiate a start date and if the employer really wants you, they'll work around it. As far as the mortgage company goes, they just want to know that you are currently (and continuously) employed. Good luck! Chat Icon

My husband started a new job right around when we closed and it wasn't a problem because it was for more money. I don't think its a problem as long as you can prove that you have a job. Also, they will see that it was a logical move for more money. so, unless you think it would be too stressful to do all at once, I wouldn't let the fear of closing keep you from taking it. If you feel better, check with your broker again.
